WHITTEMORE ENTERPRISES RECOGNIZED FOR INNOVATION IN HEALTHCARE

Dr. Richard Hart of Loma Linda University Health nominates Bill Whittemore as the Global Innovation

recipient for leadership and creative solutions in the medical equipment community.

San Bernardino, CA. (September 26, 2016) Whittemore Enterprises has been honored as a recipient of the 2016 Annual Inland Empire Global Innovation Award recognizing the organization’s transformational drive in education, public service and excellence in the refurbished medical equipment community.

Loma Linda University Health president and CEO Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH, who has recently been recognized as one of “110 Physician Leaders to Know in 2016” by Becker’s Hospital Review, commented on the honor given to Mr. Whittemore: "Over the past 10 years, Whittemore Enterprises has been an invaluable partner of Loma Linda University Health and the network of international mission hospitals we support.  Bill works closely with our staff to provide quality refurbished medical equipment appropriate in resource challenged locations."

Whittemore Enterprises becomes a "Collaborative" member launched by The Center for Global Management at California State University San Bernardino along with two federal agencies (Small Business Administration and US Department of Commerce - Center for International Trade and Development), and two state offices (Economic Development Agency of San Bernardino and Riverside counties).

Dr. Hart further commented on the company’s approach to serve the medical community. "Bill has a soft spot for the underserved and has always tried to find the right piece of equipment, usually at a substantial discount." Mr. Whittemore has viewed his approach to solutions in healthcare as unique to the market. "I always looked for what I could do to help solve problems for my clients." He founded the company on the idea of offering true value. "We would obliterate the price objection by offering goods at 50% to 75% less than other sources," Whittemore remarked.

So much of the medical equipment today is cost prohibitive. "I'm obliged to provide a deal to my customers, not only because they demand it, but because my goal is to supply doctors and hospitals at all profit levels with the equipment they need to provide quality service to their patients."
