ARTHROSCOPY

ARTHROSCOPES

Arthroscopes are quite complex in nature, being a sealed, water-tight device consisting of glass rod lenses in a fiber optic tube. As arthroscopes have evolved over the years, the fiber optic and glass rod technologies have improved greatly, allowing for improved clarity, wider field of view, increased magnification, and improved light transmission.

The clarity of the optics is dependent on the internal condition of the scope. Over time, particulate can build up inside a sealed scope, causing a cloudy image that requires disassembly and cleaning to remedy. Additionally, the glass rod lenses can be easily damaged, chipped, or broken, and this will also affect the quality of the image. Then there is the distal objective lens; this can be easily scratched by shavers and burrs during procedures. In some cases, these scratches can be removed by polishing, but it is important to not change the angle or degree of view by over-polishing. The fiber optic light bundle within the scope is another important component and can deteriorate over time, or be damaged by autoclaving a non-autoclavable scope or overheating an autoclavable scope. Damage to the light bundle will cause poor light transmission.

We take all of this into account when inspecting our arthroscopes in order to only offer items that meet the highest quality standards. All of our used arthroscopes are up to manufacturers' specifications, so be aware when buying from non-professional equipment suppliers who do not pay attention to these details.

Arthroscopes are available in autoclavable and non-autoclavable versions of the same scope. Most newer arthroscopes are autoclavable, designed to withstand the extreme heat of sterilization, while the non-autoclavable version will be damaged in these conditions.

Warning : If not performed properly, sterilizing a scope using a manually operated table-top autoclave can be quite damaging to the scope.

STANDARD EYEPIECE ARTHROSCOPES  – Attaches to any standard video camera coupler.

SCREW ON C-MOUNT EYEPIECE ARTHROSCOPES - Prevents fogging

The concept of an eyepiece that screws on to the camera head is it provides a waterproof seal between the camera head lens and the scope lens to prevent fogging. They are available in C-Mount style, one inch/25mm.

CARTRIDGE EYEPIECE ARTHROSCOPES - Prevents fogging

Proprietary design specific to the manufacturer and requires a specific camera head.

We offer complete repair and rebuilding of all major brands of arthroscopes. Repairs generally range from $200.00 to $800.00 and up.

ARTHROSCOPY CANNULAS

Arthroscopes require arthroscopy cannulas, and these are specific by brand and size. We try to maintain cannula inventories for the telescopes we offer, and these come in multi-part sets. Single and dual stopcock systems are available in fixed or rotating versions. Inserts come with the cannula, in blunt, conical, or trocar point.

ARTHROSCOPY INSTRUMENTS

We carry a full line of brand new, MADE IN THE USA, premium arthroscopy hand instruments in 2.75mm for small joint procedures, and 3.4mm for large joint prodecures. We also offer used and refurbished arthroscopic hand instruments, knives, probes, rasps, egress cannulas, and shaver blade cannula sets.

We focus heavily in arthroscopy, so let us help you customize the instrument set that best meets your specific needs.

Additionally, under our table accessories category, we often have arthroscopic leg holders and shoulder positioners for your consideration.

ARTHROSCOPY SHAVERS

We offer a variety of brand-name small and large joint arthroscopy shaver systems by manufacturers such as Stryker, Smith & Nephew Dyonics and Linvatec Conmed (which is the same as Concept). A key consideration when purchasing a used shaver system is the availability of the disposable shaver burrs and blades. These are specific to the various manufacturers.

ARTHROSCOPY SHAVER BLADES AND BURRS

We carry systems that can be supported by our complete line of brand new, after-market burrs and blades for Stryker, Dyonics, and Conmed Linvatec. Brand name liquidation shaver blades are available through us as well as on the open market.

ARTHROSCOPY IRRIGATION

We carry arthroscopic irrigation pumps. However, these systems require disposables that we only carry as they become available to us in the liquidation market. Otherwise they have to be sourced from the manufacturer or on the open market.

RADIOFREQUENCY GENERATORS

We also carry radiofrequency and other thermal ablation devices such as Dyonics Vulcan, Stryker Serfas, and Arthrocare Coblator. However, these require disposables that must be sourced from the manufacturer or on the open market.

ARTHROSCOPY IMPLANTS

ACL and shoulder implants can be found under our Sports Medicine section.
